Before that, he spent more than a decade as a sports reporter and editor in Virginia and Maryland.1 A huge “Weird Al” Yankovic fan and Rocky Balboa enthusiast, he is also the creator and host of the HOW Charts: Retro Countdown podcast, available on Spotify, iTunes and Anchor. Also one of my early mentors in the newspaper biz, please welcome, Chuck Schilken.

Chuck shares how he ended up living in L.A. and tells us about the state of journalism while discussing his role at the L. A. Times, including stories about columnist Bill Plaschke, the day Kobe Bryant died, and whether LeBron is truly accepted by Lakers fans.

Chuck also speaks about the current state of affairs in Cali, including if Gov. Gavin Newsom has a legitimate shot at the presidency, the homeless crisis, and high gas prices.
