95 Days: Donald Dope
The former president can't help himself, much to his own detriment with voters
It would be hard to have a worse week than you, Donald Trump.
For a guy who survived an assasination attempt, your campaign has shockingly, only gotten worse, and you have only yourself to blame.
You and your campaign managers made what could become some of the most historical campaign blunders in history, starting with agreeing to that June 27th debate against President Joe Biden.
While you clearly were the winner of the debate, it took place so early, before either party had officially nominated a candidate at their respective conventions, that it allowed the Democrats to dump Biden (after a few agonizing weeks) and shove vice president Kamala Harris in his place.
Harris, who is enjoying an extended honeymoon, and is still days away from naming her vice president pick, still has to look forward to the Democratic national convention, which I’m sure will be littered with the Hollywood liberal glitterati, and will only give her campaign another boost.
And what is your response?
“So I don't know - Is she Indian? Or is she black?”
Yes, ladies and gentleman, the 45th President of the United States…Donald J. Trump! He said those words at the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago on Wednesday.
Donald, I say this with only the best intentions: “Shut the fuck up!”
I don’t care if Harris thinks she’s a purple blob covered in fuzz like Grimace. Her policies, in my mind, are atrocious if not downright dangerous.
As bad as Biden was during what ultimately became his final political debate, at this point my 9-year-old son seems better equiped for a political debate than you with your sophomoric name-calling.
It’s not helping. Not with this voter.
Stick to the issues, Donald. There’s plenty of red meat there.
Harris was one of the most, if not the most liberal senators during her time on Capitol Hill.
She’s on record for banning fracking. She supported the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which helped bail Black Lives Matter rioters out of jail in 2020. She supported abolishing the filibuster in order to pass Alexandria Ocasio-Cortezes Green New Deal.
She is also on record saying she supported mandatory gun buybacks, and would consider expanding the Supreme Court.
You’ve introduced something very unique to American politics.
Your’re the most loved or villianized politician in my lifetime. And in either three months time or four years time, we will be done with you, and hopefully done with this caustic political period in American history.
For some of us, that time can’t come soon enough.
There’s a “silent majority” of voters, I believe, who’ve had enough of the current political environment. I believe there’s roughly 80 percent of voters who could go either way in the polling booth on November 5th.
Reminding them of their squabling children in the backseat of the car over such nonsense, is not going to help.
Don’t forget your poll numbers and favorability were climbing as you kept your mouth shut for the better part of this year, including in the weeks following Biden’s debate disaster.
The less you say, the better.
And when you do say something, make it about one of the myriad of issues facing Americans today, like the economy1, inflation, etc.
We are done with all the name calling — you dope!
Like Jim Carville said during the 1992 Clinton campaign: "The economy, stupid."
“Liberal glitterati” is a beautiful phrase even if I don’t like the tone of it. I’ve never heard it before, but it’s glorious.
