Cold Open Question of the Week: What’s your favorite memory of my old apartment, Apt. 107, at Penn State?
Everybody, it seems, loves a reunion. Even the Beatles recently “reunited,” releasing their last song ever, “Now and Then”, this past Friday.
This week, I had the opportunity to “reunite” with my three former college roommates from my time at Penn State’s Main Campus.
In August of 1997, I moved into University Commons in University Park, Pennsylvania. Just like on MTV’s The Real World, I moved into an apartment with three complete strangers to me. While we only lived together for 10 months, those days were filled with lots of wonderful memories, as you will hear, and the memories have lasted a lifetime.
It’s been 25 years since the four of us were all together, and thanks to Zoom, we were finally able to see each other again. And as you’d expect, we picked up right where we left off.
We got a chance to discuss where our respective careers have taken us. Marriages, children, and yes, even cats and dogs! I see you Luke Skywhisker and Bruno.

We reminisce about the old friends, “Jericho” and “Tony Jackass”, who used to drop by the apartment, recount the hijinks we pulled on our neighbors upstairs, and reminisce about Bret’s red Pontiac Fiero, with a broken CD player, and Dave’s gold Chevette, with questionable breaks.
It was great to spend a few hours with these guys and we hope one day to be back in the same room again.
Until then, enjoy the conversation!
