Episode 97: The One About Gin and Juice

Gary critiques the season's new mixers, his son passes his driving test, road rage, blind dates in Tokyo, and News of the Weird

Cold Open Question of the Week: If you were invited back to high school to speak to students, what topic would you discuss with them?

Gin and Juice', pre-mixed drink from Snoop and Dre, released to public

Gin & Juice: Gary’s 100% behind Snoop and Dr. Dre’s new cocktail concoction, including apricot! And he picked up a bottle of Por Osos, the vodka brand of comedian’s Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura.

You can check out Pikey’s review (NSFW) below:

Colin Gets His Driver’s License: Gary’s 16-year-old son is now a licensed driver in the state of Florida. We get all the details about the driving test and find out how much Gary’s car insurance is going up.

Road Rage: Brian admits to recent bouts of road rage, including two instances this week involving two drivers making a right turn from the left lane.

Tokyo Blind Date:

From Tim Ferris, author of The 4-Hour Work Week and such titles, comes this fun, interesting and romantic(?) tale from Nick Gray.

Nick Gray’s blind date adventures in Japan. Austinite entrepreneur Nick Gray came up with the following idea, which he posted on Twitter/X: “I want to do a blind date and go to Tokyo next weekend. If you’re a woman with a passport who likes sushi and Japanese food and can ride a bike in a big city… let’s go. I’ll pay for everything but in return you have to film stupid videos of me for my socials.” There was this Google doc, which he included. Here is his latest moving update at the time of this newsletter. You can learn more about the woman who joined the blind date here, and these photos in Tokyo will make you smile.

Brian has some questions about for Gary about the romance of blind dates and what role money and wealth play in these scenarios.

Gary’s News of the Weird: Nigerian chess champion plays a long time; Finland launches an AI coffee blend.

Tom Brady Gets Roasted: The boys didn’t watch the complete roast of the quarterback, but they have questions on if some of the jokes about former Patriot Aaron Hernandez, who suffered from CTE, went too far.
